Set Sail for Saltmarsh!

Ghosts of Saltmarsh is releasing on May 21, 2019!

Saltmarsh will be considered a Season 0 (season-agnostic) release, and is not tied to any particular DDAL storyline season. The hardcover book will carry the DDHC00-GSM adventure code, and will be available for Tiers 1 through 3 (characters level 1 through 16).

The introductory adventure sent to stores for play — Salvage Operation — will be AL-legal under code DDIA00-GSM.

Ghosts of Saltmarsh combines some of the most popular classic adventures from the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons including the classic ‘U’ series and some of the best nautical adventures from Dungeon magazine:

The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh
Danger at Dunwater
The Final Enemy
Salvage Operation
Isle of the Abbey
Tammeraut’s Fate
The Styes

In addition, Saltmarsh will tie into Dreams of the Red Wizards, the new non-seasonal campaign introduced in Issue 25 of Dragon+. Dreams won’t be attached to a specific storyline season in the Forgotten Realms campaign, and players will have the opportunity to impact the narrative based on the decision their characters make.

DDAL-DRW01, Breaking Umberlee’s Resolve, will be Tier 2.
DDAL-DRW02, Blood in the Water, will be Tier 2.
DDAL-DRW03, Saving Silverbeard, will be Tier 3.
DDEP-DRW01, Assault on Myth Nantar, will be Tiers 2 & 3.

The nautical Dreams trilogy is authored by Ashley Warren, DMs Guild Adept and author of DDAL00-05 Winter’s Splendor, and the Dreams epic is authored by James Introcaso, DMs Guild Adept and Dragon Heist designer & Amy Lynn Dzura, one of the Adventurers League Community Managers.

Guidance from Wizards of the Coast for tying together Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Dreams of the Red Wizards can be found in this DM resource document.

See you on the high seas, adventurers!

  1. The player hand out is weird.. it’s written in common then has a sub section where it’s translated in common.. is that intentional? Seems redundant

  2. I would really like a Season Pass option for the DMS Guild. It used to be we could get the AL adventures from the store free of cost. Now I have to pay for them out of pocket, which I’m not totally opposed to – you do put in a lot of work on them. You often have season Passes well after the season expires – so one can get all 10 (or whatever) adventures for a modest discount. Why not do that when the season launches? I spent $55 for all 11 adventures from the Eberron Embers of the Last War. It is a good adventure path, well written and edited, but it is not worth more than a good hardcover. $30-$35 for a digital season pack seems more appropriate.
